Sustainable pots for Home grown Plants

“Sustainability” is a word which is being talked about enormously and vigorously these days. Scientist ,researchers ,environmentalist from all walks of world wants to shape the future of world in a sustainable and responsible manner. Even a common man is thinking regarding changing trends of world aspiration towards sustainable and economical models.

In todays world where one way, leaders are searching their roots in traditional and valuable history  and some people are going gaga over modern technologies of the new parallel world. I believe , Modern world is enriched by values and pillars of diversified past of the societies and countries which is being nourished since centuries.

Pottery is one of ancient culture of art ,source of income and a rich method to propagate and penetrate through the time and space and it had seen various paradigm shift in history of mankind.

Let me tell you, with the increasing awareness of climate change ,world is trying to save it or at least getting  ready to behold  the environmental pressure.one method is planting trees and plants which gives positive energy oxygen, timbers ,shelter etc. In this modern people are experimenting with different kind of plants and their caretaking as per their capacity and fondness.

Plants pots are also getting affected by this changing scenarios as well. From Terracotta to clay ,from Sand mix clay to plaster of peris   ,from plastic to Styrofoam its being implemented and innovated in various sustainable ways also.

Being the most sustainable method of making Pots from clay ,the art is losing its way due to economical equations ,non availability of good quality clay and transportation complications.

My idea is simple to mix clay with coconut ropes ,which will make pot more lighter due to its volume, cheaper due to its availability and having capacity of withholding moisture for a long time due to increase in porosity  so that less water could be used for more days per pot.

One major benefit is  when rope is mixed with wet clay and formed into Ready pot its inner unpolished corrugated surface (due to structure of the rope) will give more strength and flexibility.

Best part is per Pot, less than half or almost half of the total clay(has to be calculated on the basis of strength and usage)  would be required and would  be a better economically and environmentally viable solution. Even  in those area where coconut or bamboo farming is being escalated  from grass root level ,coconut shell in semi powdered form or bamboo powder can be used extensively in place of ropes.

Personally I feel it should be researched at micro level and its economic viability should be quantifed, customised and improvised as a sustainable income model for low earning people already in this business and market it in aware and informed societies and sections India.

Andman as a prototype for susainable India

I feel to share my feelings regarding different aspect of socio economic scenario, also I feel responsible to contribute towards upliftment of status of our People and Society. Coming from a technical background and having exposure of various demographical experience, I look into the socio economic problems of Indian republic through different fringes. Sir, you visited Andman Nicobar islands recently, I have been there last year in December 2017 and got to know that electricity provided to those islands is by Generators basically run by oil. Sir, To run those generators oil is transported to those islands by ships from Kolkata /Chennai once a week if I am not wrong. Sir Mr. modi you inaugurated 7 MW solar power generation system, what I believe that Integrated wind power system can be better utilised as per the wind pressure, speed and geographical condition of those islands. Sir, I have also read people over there are facing problem of sea erosion for which you have inaugurated sea wall system .I commend your step in order to solve this problem with green technologies along with conventional method, whereas I feel wind power system would require less land as well as help creating virtual/intelligent wall which will give you real localised l data regarding the problem of sea erosion. Sir green technology like wind or Soler power system which would help reduce the dependency on oil for stance Haveloc Island taking as a prototype. The saved oil cost and transportation cost could be utilised by Indian green wing research unit in order to create integrated solar and wind system. Which will help solve two major problems. 1. Integrated system(one start up in India is already working on this system and market it) can harvest Rain and fulfil the requirement of potable water for people and can be utilised for agricultural purposes which help reduce their import cost from mainland and rely on their on vegetables and dairy products. 2. Investing in green technologies research would help generate green technology based all-weather fishing and ferry boat (like Denmark )and can be geo-tagged or virtually identified by Soler imbedded frequency system in order to counter terrorism. Sir ,I keep on thinking regarding problems of Indian societies and tries to solve them with logical and rational thinking though my solution needs huge resources which are available in India or they are being implemented in different countries or society. Sir, I wanted to share my innovative thoughts with you, I don’t know how much would be noticed, implemented or researched. I believe if I cant research in things I believe we are having resources which will help unleash power of green energy in an articulated manner .Sir I did not know how to share all this but heard about your Mann Ki Baat ,though I have never got a chance to listen it but I know it is creating a huge impact along with reviving our Heritage “All India Radio” . I feel proud that you are the person for whom I can say ,My prime Minister Narendra Bhai Modi have traded his persona, fame and aura to revive our 90 years old technological Heritage .

Death of a Cellphone

Ever wondered what this mobiles are doing in our life , proper communication is priority for all of us but at what cost ,do we really think we are really connected with our loved ones due to this mobile, it is the intent which takes us in  close proximity of others not this damn device .I don’t believe mobile has made our life easier ,don’t we think, we used to exist happily when this so called invention did not intervene in our daily life, yes I believe every coin has the flip side, now we have got everything  on our finger tip due to this , on the other hand we the masters are  just being the slave .we are not controlling this device somehow this has started controlling our life, from morning to evening how this device has started played fool out of us ,From the morning to night due to this device, so many old invention  alarm clock, calendars, calculators ,Camera , torch are gone obsolete . we have got only one solution for any damn problem, one smart phone and you are ready to jack the world, ever wondered how this multi nodular device is snatching the human interface from our life, we are just going deep into the virtual matrix and leaving the reality behind, don’t take me wrong but every things has pros and cons, I usually say mobile is the worst invention ever made by humans, no matter how much beneficial it is. we have stopped using our mind for any small thing, this has started being brain for us, without it we feel we are incomplete, we just feel like dying every minute, the time we see our phone battery is going to be dead, like it is giving air to our life so what do we say, I guess we are just being puppet of this machine.

Something interesting happened which forced me to write about all this, the day I felt how lousy we are becoming because of this fucking thing. A whole night went into vacuum, just shattered like nothing, which I felt could be so happening if we were not habitual of this flashing metals and plastics in our hand. We have given all our brains our power to this thing. Meeting a close friend after a long while was so much exciting, when I was there for one night in his vicinity. Everything was planned, yes of course on the mobile only, that I have to admit, but how it got shattered and how things are getting shattered every moment in our life is just the effect of the deep penetration of cell phone in our life.

I happened to be in New Delhi, the national capital of India for one day, after finishing everything I planned to meet a friend of mine and scheduled our meeting, got ready and moved my way. The first thing after leaving my place was to book a cab ,thanks to internet and all the mind blowing people who made everything possible on your fingertip, unfortunately I could not get it due to slow internet and my friend booked it on my behalf. On my way to the cab reaching point, realized my mobile has just 25 percent battery which means I could  live independently for one or two hours, the first thing which came into my mind ,can I make it without any problem if my mobile dies. I literally called my friend about my apprehension but he had already booked the cab and things slept out of my hand. After some time I got a call from the cab driver saying he is reaching the destination “Defense Colony” which was supposed to be “The friends Colony”. Apparently my friend has overheard me and gave him wrong address. I was in hurry so I had to take an auto to the place my friend has suggested, obviously I did not have any idea about that place, but I was excited to meet him after so long. The cab driver was nice fellow, had a little chit chat over politics, religion and life in NEWDELHI .I was happy that auto driver was well versed to have a conversation with, was just being overjoyed. In the mean while I wanted to call my friend to inform him and realized that my phone is dead, I got panicked what to do, what happened, some time back battery was 25 percent now it’s not getting alive. So many thoughts started coming in my mind, suddenly my mood swiveled from happy    to tensed mood, what am I going to do, my other friends at my place did not know where I was, when they get back, they were not informed, how they will search me if I kept going on to meet my friend? My connection to them was lost. What my girlfriend would think when she would realize my phone was switched off, especially when we had  a heated argument some time back, would she be restless, or she would feel that I switched my phone off  purposely, Would she cry , or would she be concerned . Oh God knows what she would think. The main concern was how will I reach there to my friend at his suggested milestone, how will I communicate him about my whereabouts in a place as big as small town. Should I move forward or should I go back to my place and charge the mobile first.  Should I let my friend wait there for me till the time my mobile gets live, what would he think? What happened to me? I met with an accident? I cancelled my plan or I was just fooling around. Lots of question started churning in my mind just because of a fucking flashy device which made us so dependent, we feel, we are living in the some aliens place   without that piece of shit in our hand. I was in dilemma, crowded with all question and the decision I made, was to go back to my place after coming nearly more than half a distance. My mobile won over my intelligence and   I just conveyed the auto driver to move back from where he picked me up, he could not register what he just heard. He was having a nice conversation with me some moments back, now I wanted to turn him back, what’s wrong with me .he started asking sir, what happened? Is there any problem? I wondered, was really there any problem , what happened if my phone got dead, I can reach any damn place by our usual older methods .we have  made our life so easy that all else feels so complicated and that’s where this machines are controlling our virtue. I could not believe what I was doing, I said yes there is a problem ,my phone is not working so there is no way I can meet my friend as I was knowing the location, but not the exact vantage point of our meet. Cab driver could not stop him to help me out and said you can use my phone if you want, I took the phone and I got paranoid when I realized, I did not remember my friend’s  no. I felt so disgusting, some of important numbers were used to be in my memory when this flood of smart phones were not into existence, even I used to keep one notebook with important numbers and addresses, but gone are those days, Now we started believing gigabytes and memory of this flashy thing, we have left our mind to think about other things and problems in our life, we have made our mind so light that small incidence like this made us panic like hell. Cab driver asked me sir if you don’t remember the number, not a problem, you can use your SIM card in my phone and call him, now how could I make that poor guy understand that mine was smart phone and the chip would not fit in his mobile , moreover contacts were in phone not in the chip. So in any ways he could not help me though he wanted to, his final words were, sir I could not go back, this is my last ride and suggested to take some other auto or cab from other side of the road and stopped the auto at red signal. I got down with puzzled mind and crossed the road, waited for another auto to my place. I was feeling like an idiot .An idiot which is not slave of his mind, slave of his mobile, whose plans, meeting and happy moments of his life were depending upon the battery of his mobile.

So lame our life has become, I did not utter a single word to the auto driver my back home, I was just brooding over .My mobile made my soon to be happening night out to a gruesome experience.

Seriously, our life has been eased up or it’s just being controlled by this flashy and handy things. It’s worth giving a thought.  Can’t we move a single step on our own backbone without this; can’t we make a single decision without being dependent on this, can we? Hadn’t we really given all authority and power to our mobiles, do we really operate this or it is operating us? There was lots of question that night in my mind and nobody to answer because we all are being trapped in same paranoia, we want to be controlled, and we have lost the capacity to control things in life. That flashy thing is not a mobile; it has become remote control of our breath and our life.

Angolan delight- The most adventurous Lunch

Who does not want to have a delicious, lavish lunch followed by a fine scotch or a glass of red wine . but the question is, How much one can pay for it ,Especially at the place where you don’t have  much chance to get the ambience you want ,or variety of cuisines your taste buds long for. Most importantly if you really want to have  your favorite scotch at a comfortable place  after a long tiring week.

It differs from place to place ,but a country like Angola in the “ west African region” which is considered amongst the poor one. I mean Angola is the country where you can get the foreign exchange on the roads  even in front of the Banks, Where you can see the unhygienic eating  joints on road side  along with the well established food shops. Where you  can witness the old buildings just at the verge of destruction, just parallel to the air-conditioned commercial complexes. At the place like this, we did not expect to spend more than 50 US $ per person in any kind of place. This place proved us all wrong, or it would be better if I say that was a awful  experience followed by a surprise, happiness and above all real adventure of its kind.

One day ,after a long tiring week, had a chance to visit the city  “Luanda” in west African country Angola, and Getting a good place was first on our bucket list to relax and have some peg of ‘Scotch’. Just around the corner we noticed a 3 star hotel where we could get it all, though back of the mind we all knew place is going to be costly, But as per the environment of roadside and current rate of “Quansa’ against US $ made us fall for the bet.Just in a minute we were in  the lobby of second floor of the Hotel.

Where we could see the Bar at one side ,without blinking our mind we just magnetized towards the bar sections ,asked for the Menu the Drinks were really cheap .we could feel the amusement inside all of us , but nothing comes free and here we were, the bar had only drinks. They did not had any thing to offer as snacks. We Indians can drink loads but not without something to spice up our tongue. So here was  inevitable question” where can we get something to eat along with these drinks’. The  Answer gave us a hope and we just rushed to the indicated direction .

“Oh my god” that was our first impression  just reaching the section, No one had the opportunity to witness so much variety of delicious cuisines before. it was like food heaven , you name the variety and you have it on the buffet , be it Asian, Chinese,  Continental, Arabian, American or European. The place had it all, from squids to octopus, from prawns to lobster, from green leaves to  any vegetable of the season, sweet dishes, cakes, fruit salads .

Just after scanning the whole place , it seemed costly to me but another chap just cleared the web and said if I am right whatever we can eat ,at the end would have to pay around 300 US $ for all, and that’s not an  issue . well it was a new experience for us, we just  went along and tried everything which looked good, We Indians only experience  the “never tried’ cuisine by their look and smell , we tried it all and  it was an awesome experience for me .

The time came  when we needed to pay the bill, Here we found our ghost .The payment time, having food for five people  was 56,460 quansa that means around 545 US $ as per the current exchange rate.

We Were like numb , we could not believe it. The strangest part was ”the cost of same drink on the same floor in the Bar section was 4 times lower than having it in the buffet lounge on the same floor’

It was like bringing the drink from bar to buffet was as hard as it were being brought from the moon.

The food was just for 300 US $, and for 5-6 pegs of small drinks  we had to pay 200 US $ which we could manage in 50- 60 Us $  if we would  have been in the bar section.  We had only 300 US $ in cash including all, the place had extra rule of deducting 2 %  if we  would have wanted  to use cards.

The last resort was to rush to the ATM and grab the money, fortunately the HDFC  ATM was  very near by , but how we could get smooth ride for the first time, ATM did not workout, we rushed to other one, after consecutive trial it did not worked out either, Now we had last chance to go for another trial and wait for the  Card to be blocked or  clean the cutleries through out the night  against our bill.

At the last trial we got the cash ,we got the sigh of relief now no one had to clean the dishes. we rushed to the counter paid the bill.

It was really most expensive lunch of my life where we had to pay around 550 US $ just to eat and have a glass of scotch. We were lucky enough to experience this  and experienced it successfully otherwise most of the  world population does not have the capacity to pay the bill 0f around 550 us$ at once .

The dark night, where all went wrong.

Every place has its own story. every person who went on exploring  places are bound to have different experience for the same very place and The story starts being unfold which depend upon various thing like the weather, the tuff rides ,timings and specially the mood of the traveller.
For the person, who actually feels that its an adventurous experience, for them who just read or hear the experience its just another story.

So here I am sharing my experience ,which might be a story for all but it was indeed an unforgettable experience which i am proud to have.

Some  years back group of friends were ready to explore Gangtok  ,capital of Sikkim in India. Like any another guys we never wanted to settle for a pleasure trip, for us it was beyond that, for us this journey was to explore the places ,the culture , the cuisines and above all having fun with friends.

Our journey started with real adventure, we never knew the remotest city in north east India is also influence by the Bollywood, and our driver  was so smitten by Mr. Salmaan Khan, that eventually he loved to be called as Radhe  ,it was quite amusing for us. Just down the Road when we all were settled down ,one of our friend lit the cigarette and here goes our first surprise, Mr. Radhe told us “please, don’t smoke otherwise  I will take the cab to the police station. we were really shocked.” why he was reacting that way” when we asked , we got to know, In Gangtok smoking was not allowed in public. We were really intrigued. Smokers can understand what its like when you have to smoke and you are not allowed, well some how we managed to persuade our driver ‘Mr. Radhe ‘ and our ride went well till the time where all the shit started.

Just after some kilometres ,we left the Gangtok city ,and we were on the highway to our destination to “ Gurdogmar” at 19k feet  via Lachung & Yungthaam  Valley. Gurdogmaar where we could see the white beers ,white silver peaks of mountains and probably we would have experienced the deficiency of oxygen in the atmosphere but our ride had to be adventurous and we went out there for that only. So here it starts , heard the news of massive land slide and the main road to Yungthaam Valley was closed  for god knows how many days. Roads were packed with cars and cabs and not a single one was moving and here comes our real hero Mr. Radhe “ he just took a less taken road , which was full of dust ,mud and uneven elevations. My God, we really felt that no matter what is gonna be next, though  we were sure we will reach” Yungthaam Valley’. Being on the window side I could see the serene beauty of mountains very well. apart from that, being on a less driven road ,it was not maintained well moreover due to rush, cabs were crossing each other where a single cab cannot pass,  I was really awestruck as sometime the half of the outer wheels used to be in the air. I was awfully scared and jammed my fist on the handle of cabs door, but we never knew there was a lot more to come ,it was just starting .God has another plan for us, like he was telling ,you are here to feel the thrill now feel it like u have never before.  Cab  was jumping and moving ahead to uneven elevation and we did not know even when the car’s radiator got burst and Mr. Radhe had to take it to some safe  house.

Now believe it or not, but we were at the place where we should not be ,on a less driven road ,where getting the  help is the remotest possibilities, over all we did not know for how many hours we have to be stuck there, But Mr. Radhe assured us that he will arrange another cab in 3-4 hours, we did not know on what basis he was telling this but we did not have any other option. well we were stuck so we could not stay there and just wait for the cab, we went there for adventure and  at every step  we were getting that, so how could we wait, after getting basic info we came to know  that “Tista River Dam project  ” was going on down the road. We decided to go there to have some stuff and also to explore the valley. Four of us  just  started walking towards the Valley and rest three decided to stay there and wait for the cab. Just down the road we felt ,on mountains distance is actually more than what it seems. But we had to reach there so we tried to take the lift from a ‘lorry” . It was our first hand experience on a empty lorry ,where we did not have any thing to hold and the lorry was moving on the road which  is covered by the mountains on one side  and other side was deep valley. After reaching the place we bid thanks and rushed into some small shops where we can get some thing to eat and drink. Really  all this effort paid it off when we had the best “Maggie” of our life, which any one could get in the mountains only .after having our Maggie and beer ,when we started returning back, already 4 hours had passed and we had to decide in which direction we had to move to catch our friends. As MR.Radhe had assured us that cab will be there in 4-5 hours ,we could not communicate to them as due to land slide and bad weather cell phones  networks were also  dead.

Now we decided to move back the way we came in order to have maximum possibilities to meet our friends .we are on the patchy road in a dark night where we could see the pollution free sky but we could not see the clear road ,where on one  side it was mountain filled with trees and wild animals and on another side it was deep valley, just one wrong step and we would have been lost in the valley where no one could ever find us . we had only one thing to help moving on the road was a Nokia 3310 enabled with torch, that also not fully charged, So we had to use it cautiously. we could listen the voice of cricket(jhingoor) and see  the fireflies  everywhere. Waters which peeped down from the mountains were searching their way on the roads and making it slippery to make our movement quite adventurous,, but we wanted more all this was never enough for us and then one of the friend started telling the stories of ghost.

Now if one can assume ,four guys on a slippery and solitude road filled with darkness, where  one can only see the fireflies and listen to the crickets. Where you can get all kind of creature one can think of and in midst of that we were started the stories of ghost, which some people avoid at this kind of situation. We started and kept listening and tried to scare everyone and after some time we were really scared, scared like hell, our legs were started trembling ,we stopped the stories but still we were feeling like ghost is coming with us or we were going to  have the encounter with that . At last we had only one solution which we had heard through grand parents and some mythological books. In this kind of situation we should start Chanting “The Hanuman Chalisaa” and literally we started doing that, and  in some minutes we really calmed down ,our fear got evaporated ,and from the back we saw the head light of a cab, we took the lift and came down to the place we started our so called “Adventurous night journey’.

We got the cab from there and started the journey for the Yungthaam valley though afterwords we had lots of experiences in that journey but not that scary.

Still I feel goose bumps when I think of the day, think of the experience but somewhere  in the back of mind I feel that  someday I  should be part of such experience again.

Being Independent

Being Independent

Tomorrow on 15 august, every Indian will again feel that another glorious year of independent India has been passed ,we are proud ,we will celebrate it enthusiastically from the gate of RED FORT in national capital to every school and every office of the biggest democracy of world. Why should not we celebrate , after all we are independent , we are filled with joy and pleasure.

We are being happy for the biggest achievement of Indian republic, tomorrow every Indian weather Hindu, mushlim, sikh Or Christianity would feel patriotic, in Front of National Tricolour every one will stand with his head high. one way or other, everyone is going to take some oath ,everyone is going to make some promise for the integrity and respect of our country, but unfortunately not to fulfil it or keep it beyond the next day. No one can. This is our history we could not keep up the promise till the next day. If we could have done this ,we could have kept our promise and oaths, may be this year it would not have been required to take some other oath, well every year we take more or less same oath which is just to ” respect our citizens of every caste and creed and above all our so called glorified country”.

Today in India every one is independent, after all our country is independent,68 years back British left India and we got our independence on 15th august but do we really feel that we are independent? Do we really think hoisting the national tricolour would make us independent? Do we really feel that singing the national anthem in unison for one day make us independent? do we really feel that greeting everyone by “Jai Hind” for one day make us independent? I don’t think so ,even most of the laureates would agree with me that just celebrating our” Independence day” we are not independent because from next day  onwards we would be doing the same thing we did every year after celebrating our National Festival.

From the next day onwards we will start thinking and doing things for our benefit ,we will fight for our caste ,we  will proudly boast our religion to prove ourselves superior, we will keep on disrespecting women, we will fill up the roads and other places with filth and dirt. We will take bribes, we will rape some girl on a lonely road, we will disrespect the constitution in parliament by saying abusive words to other politician. after all we are independent we can do whatever we want this is the definition of independence in our country.

Sorry folks, but this is not independence ,we were  never independent and never will. This is the harsh reality of India, everyone feels that they are independent but no one dares to talk about positivity of society ,no one dares to talk about caste ,no one dares to talk about religion, no one dares to talk about  our spiritual books, and we never will. This is going to be our fate our future ,that we will rot in this society fighting with our own brothers ,raping our own sisters, making our country more filthy and what more can you expect in the country where “freedom of speech” and “freedom of religion” is just kept written  in our golden book”The  Indian Constitution” but never be understood or applied. If someone dares to speak something regarding particular religion to even his friend of another religion ,he is afraid or hesitates  to deliver the truth just to avoid any public outrage by mistake. Our tolerance level  has gone so down ,even we don’t let someone speak about caste ,creed, religion or community and then we say we are independent. we don’t talk about our glorious history and we say we are independent.  we don’t have strength to  destroy any small religious place which is midst the roads, and can lead to accident prone points to avoid making the issue political and we say we are independent. we don’t have strength to save a girl either in a womb or on a road and we say we are independent.

Independence is not what we are doing .in my point of view being independent  is to liberate the truth of society, to deliver the reality to society, to talk about religion without any hesitation, to give respect to every caste and creed and not to just fight, to protect women without ant disparity. Being independent means to say what you believes in and to listen patiently what others believe in .

Then in real we would be really independent ,that day we would have  real pleasure of saying that we live in independent India and we should always strive for that, till then we should celebrate our independence day  just not for the  day but for the weeks, years and decades.
